How Much Should You Tell Your Kids About Money?
May 18th, 2006 | PersonalImagine a little-funny-cutie kid smile on you, give you a big hug, and call you “papa” or “mama”. The answer appears to be definitely yes, don’t you?
I’ve written a few posts on family (kids) and a lot of posts on money, but actually I have never really combined those two variables into a single post before. Although I have my own opinion on parents’ responsibility and how much information they should share with children especially when talking about money, I invite you to add your answers to these questions.
- Have you told them about money and financial importance?
- Do you tell your kids how much money you make?
- Do you share with them how much you have put into a savings/fund/insurance/unit-link account for them?
- Have you provided them with some sort of savings account/trust fund in case of your death or injury?
I was very-very wondering if you would like to add your own two cents here and let me know how you feel about sharing financial information with your kids. Please.

Apa ini berkenaan dengan Kiyosaki, Nof??
Kalo berbicara tentang kejujuran orangtua mengakui kondisi keuangan kepada anaknya, aku setuju. Hal yang sama yang aku ajukan kepada orang tua sendiri: “Let me know how’s your finance at these times…”
Dan mereka setuju.
Tapi untuk mendidik sejak dini, sepertinya harus dipertimbangkan usianya hingga berjujur-jujur itu jelas batasannya :)

Trims inputnya. Tidak. Tidak ada hubungannya dengan Kiyosaki.

Iya, pengetahuan tentang uang itu penting banget .
Seperti pentingnya menabung, cara membayar, kembalian, dll. Kalau untuk urusan dapur keluarga mungkin harus menunggu sampai anak agak besar. SMA misalnya
*belum kawin kok ngomongin anak*
