Shantia Wordpress Theme
June 6th, 2006 | TechnologyThis is my second Wordpress theme named Shantia. A few month ago, I’ve made Audyasha. Slightly modified version of the default WordPress theme based on the famous Kubrick. I’ve also posted this at Wordpress support forum. Nothing special. Just added some small stuff like:
- added top navigation
- all-sidebar template
- show random post
- show smilies on comments textarea
- included template for guestbook, link, and archive page
- included live preview plugin
- fresh, simple, minimalist, fast loading too
Download away here.
Just extract the zip file into /themes directory and activate it.
Don’t forget to move live-comment-preview.php to /plugins directory and activate it. It will load comment preview automatically. The plugin will work automatically with either of the default themes and many 3rd party themes.
Feel free to use it on your own site. If you do decide, a credit link back to my site is always appreciated.
I apologize if you still find some error, bugs, etc. I’m still learning into PHP, XHTML, and CSS thing. Comments and suggestion are highly appreciated.

Nofie, apparently the live-comment-preview.php that you provide with the pack has errors, and i had to download from http://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/LiveCommentPreview to make it work.

I really, really like this theme…The colors blend well, it’s easy on the eyes and very cool. The only issue I have is the sidebar drops down the page in I.E. Would love to get that to work.

Hey all — was hoping that someone could clue me in on a total n00b CSS issue:
I’m trying to customize the Random Image Theme for Wordpress, and I’m running into a small — but *incredibly annoying* — problem.
I’m trying to make the background of the content area white. The background of navigation column that runs down the right side is not plain white (FFFFFF). Rather Photoshop’s color picker claims that it’s F9F9F9 — but this isn’t anywhere in the style.css file. There is a .alt that has a background set at F8F8F8, but when I change that to FFFFFF, it doesn’t help.
Where is that shading coming from?

I haven’t seen the first one but I definitely like this one – simple and fresh. Just one thing to note – the right navigation block (the one with the recent posts and sponsorred links) is not where it is supposed to be (I think). I am using IE7 and it is below the comment form (I think it should be at the top right of the page).

This is a wonderful theme. I’ve examined hundreds and tried out dozens of themes before deciding to use yours on my site. I use Firefox, but I did notice the sidebar dropdown in IE. I almost had a fit, but happily Sumo has a fix for it. I thought I tried everything!
Something else… Initially, I wanted to change the background colors; and I did that successfully, achieving a gorgeous golden look, but… certain areas stayed white, and it was beyond my intermediate knowledge of CSS to find out how to track down the tag that affected their color. So I just kept everything white and have not regretted it.
Once again, this is a superior theme. Your latest offering also looks like a good bet. Thanks.

Great theme.
I have just one simple question.
How do I make the header.jpg hyperlink to say the homepage.
Currently if you click on the header nothing happens. I would like to add the code :
to the header image.Thank you in advance for any help. I have tried playing around with the styles.css and header.php but think I must be looking at the wrong files.

You should start looking at some innovative and creative ways to get the footer of the theme to contribute to the site in some bigger way. I see a lot of people put links at the footer now, and it works very well. Not a giant list of links, but something substantial and good- and, for some strange reason, it adds to the site accessibility in some way. It, of course, needs to be done right. But I have noticed it add a lot – just an idea.

I really, really like this theme…The colors blend well, it’s easy on the eyes and very cool. The only issue I have is the sidebar drops down the page in I.E. Would love to get that to work.

A small but annoying problem: the sidebar keeps dropping when I add java/text feed widgets without a fixed width like Friendfeed or Disqus widgets. I noticed that Suma had a solution for this problem but unfortunately the page does not exist anymore.
Who has a solution for this?
